What we collect
Your account details (name, email, password, and optionally phone and career goal). Your learning activity: video watch time, exam answers and scores, certificates you upload, study time you log, class attendance and supervised exam scores recorded by teachers, and championship results. Your community activity: posts, comments, likes, follows, team membership, team chat messages and reports.
Why we collect it
To run your account, build your evidence-based portfolio, show your progress to you and your UBCC teachers, run the community, teams and championships, keep the platform safe, and improve our programs.
Who can see it
You see everything about your own account. UBCC teachers and staff can see your details, evidence and uploaded certificates to verify and support your learning. Other learners see only your name, goal, team, posts and, if you allow it, your skill levels and ranking. They never see your phone, email or individual evidence. Anyone with your portfolio link can see your portfolio only if you turn sharing on in My portfolio. You can turn it off at any time. Shared portfolios are hidden from search engines.
Service providers
We use Supabase to store data and files, and Vercel to run the website. Videos play from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube's own policies apply to video playback. These providers process data for us. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Your choices and rights
You can update your details, portfolio sharing, rankings and automatic achievement posts in My portfolio. You can delete your own posts and comments. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and its data, contact UBCC. We will respond within 30 days.
Security and retention
Data is sent over encrypted connections, access is controlled by your login and by database security rules, and certificate files are private. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires. We keep your data while your account is active, and delete it after you ask us to delete your account, except where the law requires us to keep records.
Age
The platform is for adults 18 and older. Younger learners may only join through UBCC staff with a parent or guardian's permission.
